New York City-based Kobrand Corp. introduced a new premium rhum to the U.S. market in June—a distillate from Martinique made from fresh blue sugar cane. Depaz Blue Cane Amber Rhum is the first premium rhum from the Caribbean island and was released in the United States with a branded Depaz Cane Syrup mixer.

The Mojito is taking wing in more ways than one, with Delta Air Lines now offering a new line of signature cocktails inflight—starting with the Mile High Mojito, the airline's featured summer drink. To replicate the traditionally labor-intensive Mojito at 30,000 feet, Delta has partnered with Stirrings, the Massachusetts-based cocktail mixers company.

Miami-based Bacardi USA Inc. launched Grand Melón in April, the seventh spirit in its flavored rum line. The fresh watermelon-flavored rum is designed for mixability and is available nationwide. The New York-based Absolut Spirits Co. Inc. is launching its eighth flavor in June, a ruby red-grapefruit inspired vodka designed for mixing in fresh summer cocktails. Absolut Ruby Red will be released nationwide and will celebrate its launch with a star-studded party in Los Angeles.
