Former Judson Grill Chef To Open Own Restaurant
Bill Telepan, who has been looking at spaces and fielding job offers since the closing of Manhattan's Judson Grill last July, has firmed up plans for a place of his own. In March the ink dried on a deal for him to take over the Santa Fe Restaurant space, at 72 West 69th St. (Sante Fe has reopened in a new space just around the corner.)
The yet-to-be-named 100 seater will open early this fall. His partner is first time restaurateur Jimmy Nicholas, a printer specializing in high-end menus, among other things. Larry Bogdanow is on board as designer.
"My focus will be modern American cuisine, influenced by the seasons and the farmers I work with," hints Telepan of his developing culinary concept.
