Roy Danis has resigned as President of Aveníu Brands. Danis had been President of Aveníu (formerly AV Brands) since Codorníu purchased the importer in late 2007. Before Danis joined Aveníu, he was Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Ltd. Mike Kenton, CEO of Codorníu's U.S. operations, has replaced Danis on an interim basis, and plans for permanent replacement haven’t been established.
Aveníu also announced the appointments of three senior managers and the development of a new channel marketing position. Joseph Granados, who was Group Brand Director for Icon Estates Division of Constellation Brands, has been named Vice President of Marketing. David Lazarus was named Vice President of Sales, Central Region. Lazarus was most recently the Vice President of National Sales for Constellation’s Cellar Door Company. Joe Bosco was selected for the role of Vice President of Sales, Southeast Region. Bosco held the same position at Icon Estates. He replaces John Dougherty, who was named the Director of National Accounts, Eastern Region. Dougherty has been with Codorníu and Aveníu for over 12 years.
