Codorníu Group’s U.S. import company, Aveníu Brands, has reached an agreement with Bronco Wine Co. that grants Aveníu the exclusive U.S. marketing and distribution rights to Codorníu Cava. Bronco had been the Cava brand's U.S. importer since 2006. Codorníu, which reached 3 million cases globally in 2008, is the world’s second-largest Cava behind Freixenet.

Cava shipments to the U.S. reached roughly 1.2 million cases last year. However, Codorníu only accounts for a modest 45,000 cases in the market. Recently, Roy Danis resigned as Aveníu’s president, and Mike Kenton, Codorníu’s North American chief, has replaced him on an interim basis.
