Admiral Imports has signed a pact to become the exclusive U.S. importer of Abarbanel's kosher wine portfolio. Abarbanel specializes in kosher French wines, and its collection consists of four Alsatian wines including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir offerings that retail for $19.99 and a Riesling that retails for $17.99. Abarbanel also claims to be the first vintner to produce kosher Beaujolais, and Admiral will import its $12.99 Beaujolais Villages.
Admiral will also handle the kosher South American label Layla Vineyards. Wines under the Layla banner include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec varietals that retail for $11.99, and a Bonarda that will be available for $9.99. The new deal dramatically increases Admiral’s kosher wine portfolio, which also includes the Israeli Tishbi and the Chilean Terra Vega. The Abarbanel Wine Co. was the previous importer for Abarbanel and Layla Vineyards.
