Beam Global Spirits & Wine has reached a new agreement with Republic
National Distributing Company (RNDC) for distribution of its brands in
Indiana. Beam’s Indiana distribution has been handled by National Wine
& Spirits (NWS)—now partnered with RNDC in the Hoosier State—for 37
years.

This past March, RNDC took a 50% stake in NWS, resulting in the
formation of a new company, Republic National Distributing Company of
Indiana. RNDC was granted a license to begin operations in the state
last month. As such it gains half of NWS’s market-leading $375 million
in annual revenue (as of 2009). RNDC rival Southern Wine & Spirits has
also been on the move in Indiana, recently agreeing to handle Diageo
NA’s business (formerly distributed by NWS), and expecting to open
statewide operations this month.

“The new agreement forecasts an enhanced focus of resources and
attention of both companies to grow share in Indiana, where the Beam
Global portfolio of products already represents one-in-three spirits
bought in the state, according to DISCUS,” Beam said.
