Diageo to Handle Grand Marnier in Europe
Diageo and Marnier Lapostolle have formed a pact through which the world's biggest spirits marketer will handle Grand Marnier in 61 markets across Europe—including Russia and former CIS countries—as well as in travel retail. Beginning July 1, Diageo will start distribution in 26 markets, including Germany and Spain, with pan-European distribution expected upon the expiration of Marnier Lapostolle's existing contracts over the next three years.
The Cognac and orange-based Grand Marnier is the world's sixth-largest liqueur brand, with annual sales of roughly 1.3 million cases. It sells nearly 40% of its global volume in the U.S. market.
